CloudBuzz Builds Secure AWS DevOps Infrastructure for Itamar Medical
The Challenge
ZOLL® Itamar® targeted to meet FedRAMP® technical requirements within 8-12 months,
which is considered a short time, in order to add a new major client and open a new market for its technologies.
This implied migration of multiple services from Azure cloud to AWS, massive changes to their Cloud infrastructure, Installation of multiple 3rd party security tools and hardening the entire architecture to be FIPS and CIS compliant (part of FedRAMP® requirements).
The Solution
For this to happen we needed to perform the following:
Migration – Planning and executing “Live” migration of the production systems from Azure to AWS.
Security and hardening
- Researching and utilizing up to date AWS best practices and tools (Security Hub, Inspector, Guard Duty etc…) end to end (implementation, monitoring and updates) AWS
- Adjust infrastructure and software to be CIS and FIPS compliant.
- Implement additional 3rd security products such as TrendMicro and Qualys.
Availability and software upgrades
- migrated self-hosted elastic search to AWS OpenSearch to allow HA and lower maintenance overhead.
- Improved various components in the system with Auto-Scaling and infrastructure performance optimization
The Results
After Only 4 months all the environment enhancements were completed,ZOLL® Itamar® passed an assessment by a third party authorized auditor on the first attempt with no sightings.The customer finished the project ahead of deadlines and with improved capabilities and performance.
