Migdal Insurance Scales SAP on AWS with CloudBuzz

Migdal needed to perform a major scale SAP implementation based on tight timelines and effort of multiple teams with different expertise.

The challenges were reflected by the following topics:

• Purchasing expensive hardware for multiple environments with varied and complex requirements.
• Unclear sizing for a new SAP module.
• Tight timelines which required the application teams to start development as soon as possible.
• Management of dynamic multiple environments during the process in a cost-efficient manner.

For this to happen we needed to perform the following:

• Preparation – performing analysis and sizing of SAP environments to understand the minimum requirements to kick off the development.
• Cloud Deployment– Design and implementation of Landing Zone to provide a secured environment.
  Deployment of Hana certified instances based on SAP and AWS best practices (SAP on AWS).
• Compliance Testing – Joint effort with external 3^rd party to adjust the system to Migdal’s needs and provide continuous infrastructure support for the SAP developers.
• Automations and improvements – Implement SAP instance scheduling, FinOps services and adjustments to the environment for cost optimization and better work experience for the SAP consultants and users working on the system.
